Topic: Anika's Odyssey : Land of the Taniwha / Wonderful "Gobliins" clone

Hey congrats to all the team! It’s been years since i haven’t played something like this! As i saw the game on Miniclip dot com i noticed, that whoever designed the game, was heavily inspired by “Gobliins” or similar game, which really made me happy, as such games are not produced anymore.

I am 33y old software developer myself and i’m really happy to see that the old game spirit still exist.

Keep goin guys! And this game definitelly needs a sequel!
:)

PS: Next time do it bit more longer please, i passed the game for about 10 minutes.

everyone before me said it very well, thanks for a unique spin on flash games, great story packed in a little package, wonderful art and music. Thanks for helping me kill a little time with a smile on my face!

Topic: Anika's Odyssey : Land of the Taniwha / Amazing.

I couldn’t agree more with the posts before me. This game has left me, for the most part, speechless. I eagerly await a new installment similar to this game. Keep up the good work, and thanks.

Topic: Anika's Odyssey : Land of the Taniwha / A rare jewel

I was astounded by the simple and intuitive play of this game. The pure innocence of a child’s fantasy. It reminds me of my own youth. I am apalled that you guys managed to catch that atmosphere so thouroughly! This is a rare jewel.

And yes, I noticed how much care must have been taken creating this game. Anika walking the mushroom steps, the sounds adding up etcetera. I love to see that.

I definitely want to see more of this!

Topic: Anika's Odyssey : Land of the Taniwha / You may convert me yet!

I am a hidden object game fan and although I find the point click type of game fascinating, for the most part I try to avoid them. My mind just doesn’t seem to work like the creators and I end up being frustrated and giving up well before the end of the game. But, not so with Anika’s Odyssey. What initially attracted me, and please don’t laugh, was the start up screen. The ball of wool being knitted into a rabbit was to me, so creative and I thought if they can make something so mundane that fun and interesting, then the game might actually be worth giving a try. To my surprize, I was able to figure out most of the tricks and triggers to keep advancing. I do have to admit I used a walkthrough when I couldn’t figure out the exact method to keep going but for the most part I was able to do it on my own.
I hope that Anika and bunny continue to have more adventures together and I look forward to working my way through another and maybe this time without resorting to a walkthrough.
Keep up the great work.

Topic: Anika's Odyssey : Land of the Taniwha / Thank You

I am not sure if this is the proper forum for this, but I just have to say thanks so much for such an amazing game, and I congratulate you on the excellence in your work. New Zealand has taken the entertainment world by storm!

This is without a doubt one of the best games I have ever played. My favorite games of all time are Atari Adventure, Lego Star Wars, and now “Anika’s Odyssey: Land of the Taniwha.”

Don’t get me wrong – Halo and the myriad of other ultra-realistic games are very well done and amazing, but due to the pursuit of ultra-realism, suspension of disbelief is ultimately harder for the person playing. Technical limitations in these genres are glaring.

The artwork, pace of play, and richness of storyline in your creation show such care in your craft.

Now I must plant this seed if you haven’t already thought of it. I would love to see something identical to the feel of this in the Lord of the Rings genre. In fact when I was playing your game I was thinking of how cool it would be to present that world like you have done in this one. It would pay homage to the original cartoon versions of the triology and would add another great volume to LOTR fanatics’ shelves at home.

Thanks so much again, and keep up the great work.

What a fun night!

Dan
